Reconstructive Plastic Surgery has as objective the reconstruction and repair of the uneven structures of the body owning to:
  • genetic abnormalities
  • injuries, diseases
  • the process of ageing (uneven growing)
  • tumors
Usually, its objective is the improvement of the function of the body and the attainment of a normal appearance.

Generally, the two types of patients that need reconstructive plastic surgery are the following:
  • people with congenital abnormalities (distortion of limps etc.)
  • people with developmental abnormalities (including those owing to an accident, an infection, a disease or ageing.
The procedures of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery are usually completed in more than one stages.
