Hair implantation
Hair grows from hair follicles that contain maximum 3-4 hairs. Hair follicles are genetically different in the various body areas. For example, hair follicles of the upper and front region of the head differ from the hair follicles of the side and back head area. The last ones are resistant to the factors that cause hair loss while hair follicles of the upper and front region are not.
{The Problem}
Hair loss is caused by many factors; the main ones are:
- Hereditary factor
- Hormonal changes-disorders
- Age
- Skin conditions and injuries (e.g. burning)
Researchers have proved that hair loss doesn’t relate to poor skin perfusion of the head area, lack of vitamin and dandruff. Thus, excessive use of hats or helmet doesn’t lead to hair loss.
As you already know, hair loss is mainly a problem of men. Women for the same reasons confront the problem of hair becoming thinner making them look sparse.
{Hair Implanting Techniques}
There are many hair implanting techniques that are selected according to the result we want to achieve. However, all of them use hairs of the person coming from another ‘healthy’ area of the head. Hair implantation is usually performed under local anesthesia and is not considered to be a painful procedure.
The most effective method in most cases is the following:
By using a special medical tool, round transplants that contain 3-4 hair root (1-2 hair follicles) are taken. The transplants are resituated on the desired area.
The whole process usually is repeated after a period of time in order to create a natural aesthetic result.
{The result}
Hair follicles that are transplanted continue their growth normally and new hair appears after some months (usually 2-3 months). The completed result is obvious after a period of 10 months. The greatest advantage is that the transplanted follicles maintain their genetic properties; so, they are not affected by factors that cause hair loss.
